Terms of use

Last updated 26 October 2026

The short version

  • PowerPin is free to play. Play fair: one go a day, no looking up answers (no search engines or AI), no bots, no cheating.
  • The clues, stories and design are ours. Share your score as much as you like, but don't copy our questions.
  • We work hard to get every fact right. If we haven't, tell us and we'll fix it.
  • In leagues, pick a friendly nickname. Rude or hateful names get removed.
  • You can delete your account whenever you like.
  • Nothing here takes away your legal rights as a consumer.

Who we are

PowerPin (playpowerpin.com) is run by PowerPin Ltd, a company registered in Scotland (company number SC904757). This agreement is between you and PowerPin Ltd. PowerPin™ is a trade mark of PowerPin Ltd (UK trade mark application UK00004455789). Contact: hello@playpowerpin.com.

Using PowerPin

By playing, you agree to these terms. Anyone can play; if you're under 13, please ask a parent or carer before you sign in or sign up for any emails. PowerPin is for personal, non-commercial fun. Everyone gets one go at each day's round, and your answers should be your own: please don't look them up (on a search engine, with an AI tool or by asking someone) while you play. Please don't use bots, scripts or tricks to see answers early, change your score or play more than once; we may remove scores or accounts that look like they've been faked, and take away their place on any leaderboard or in any league.

Your account

You get an account without signing up, so your scores and streak are saved. If you sign in with Google or your email address, keep access to that email address: it's how you get back into your account. One account and these terms cover every PowerPin game. You can leave one game (Stats > Leave that game), which deletes that game's scores, team and league places, or delete your whole account and everything in it, in every game, at any time (Stats > Delete my PowerPin account). If an account isn't used for 2 years (no rounds, duels or sign-ins), we delete it, with its scores and medals; if we have your email address, we'll email you 30 days before, and you can keep it with one tap or by playing a round. If a game ever has rules of its own (for example a prize competition), they'll be set out here, and shown before you take part. How we look after your information is explained in our privacy policy.

Leagues and nicknames

You can start a private league or join one with an invite link, once you've signed in with Google or your email address. Only the people in a league see its table, the nicknames of its members and their scores. Anyone with the invite link can join, so only share it with people you're happy to play with. The person who runs a league (at first, whoever started it) can rename it, remove members and hand it to another member; if they leave or stop playing for 30 days, it passes to the longest-standing member who still plays. Members who haven't played for two weeks are shown separately at the bottom of the table, and a league nobody has played in for 13 months is closed automatically, so leagues carry over from one season to the next (start a new one any time).

Duels work the same way: anyone with a duel link can play its five clues and see the nicknames and scores of everyone who played it, so only share it with people you're happy to play with. Duels never count towards your streak and never win prizes.

Today's top 10. Each game has a daily top 10 of signed-in players who chose to be on it, shown by nickname with their score. You're only ever on it if you choose "Put me on the board", and you can come off it any time in Stats. Rounds that look like cheating (for example, very high scores with every answer in a few seconds) may be left off the board without notice. There are no prizes.

Your nickname is shown to the people in your leagues and duels, and on the daily top 10 if you choose to be there. It must not be offensive, hateful, sexual, threatening or bullying, pretend to be someone else, or include personal details or web addresses. Our filter blocks many bad names, but not all: if you see one, tap the name in the table or duel and choose Report this name. We check every report, and we may remove a nickname, remove someone from a league or close a league that breaks these rules.

Our content

The clues, answers, stories, scoring, design, names and logos on PowerPin belong to us or are used with permission. You're welcome to share your score, the share grid and links to PowerPin, and to stream or post videos of yourself playing (please mention PowerPin and link to playpowerpin.com). Please don't copy, republish or sell our questions or stories, or use them to build another game or service.

PowerPin isn't connected to, or endorsed by, any union, league, tour, team or governing body. Team, competition and venue names are used only to describe real events. The world map is drawn from Natural Earth, which is free for everyone to use.

Accuracy

Every clue is researched from published sources, but mistakes can happen. If you spot one, tap Report a problem under the answer. If a question turns out to be wrong, we may correct it or replace it; scores already played stay as they were.

Changes and availability

We may change, pause or stop PowerPin or any game, its rules or its features. We try to keep it running every day, but can't promise it will always be available or free of errors.

Paid extras, competitions and offers

If we offer paid extras (such as PowerPin Pro), or run competitions or prize draws, the price and any extra rules will be shown clearly before you take part, and will apply alongside these terms. Emails with news and offers are only ever sent to people who have separately said yes, and you can stop them at any time.

Links to other sites

We may link to other websites. We're not responsible for their content or how they handle your information.

Our responsibility to you

PowerPin is free, and we provide it as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for any loss that comes from using it, such as a lost streak. Nothing in these terms limits anything we can't legally limit, including your rights as a consumer, or our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If it's a big change, we'll tell you in the game first.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in your own part of the UK, and if you live in another country you keep any protection your local law gives you.
